The Scar

The Scar
As we all know about the talk of the town now, there is no need for me to dig into the details . While we all are waiting for the savages to be brutally punished we all are exchanging messages about how women should protect herself when attacked by a mob or when attacked or targetted by a single person. All these tips will definetely help to some extent. But the core problem will never be eradicated .As long as savages exist in this society there will be nonstop butchering of women's body and soul.
Assault on women, sexual harassment on women has been known since this world was created. Back then it was claimed as something done to the weaker sex. But we no longer have the title of weaker sex. Women are being empowered in various walks of life. Be it education, employment, research, sports or any field, they are trying their best to be on par with the men. I accept that women empowerment is happening world wide. Does that mean women are safe? Does being independent financially give her the safety?
Financial independence doesn't guarantee any safety for women. She can be better than any men around her in any field. But , She is always a target wherever she is. In educational institutions, work place, public place, home front, army, anywhere for that matter. She is struggling her best to break the norms and prove herself to be brave and strong. But does the society leave her to live peacefully? Talking about Women liberaism, Feminism, gender equality , etc etc are all happening as a movement. But the sexual assault on women doesnt seem to come down. It is increasing day by day , thereby creating an unsafe environment for women to move around.
There is not a single woman, right from childhood to adulthood who can say that they dont have a deep scar within them . Each one is either verbally, physically, emotionally, abused somewhere in their lifespan. The look, the words, the actions, the comments, the messages, the moves, anything would have left a scar in her soul if not in her body. She carries that scar till her death. Who is to be held responsible for this? Admiring and appreciating beauty is different from invading and abusing beauty. we all say that we live in a civilized society, educated society, refined society. But how can a society be named as civilized when there is no safety for women? Women dont ask for security. They plead for safety. It is their birth right. Leave her ALONE . Don't scar her body or soul. She can create a paradise out of this rotten world.
